The Edmonton Journal’s Jim Matheson suggests the Nashville Predators could be interested in Ales Hemsky, and the Oilers would probably want someone like defenseman Ryan Ellis in return. If the Predators won’t part with Ellis, Jonathon Blum could also be a target.

Matheson also suggests the Ottawa Senators as potential candidates for Hemsky.

The Ottawa Sun hears that the New York Rangers might be in on Hemsky.

Hockey Night in Canada’s Eric Francis hears that the Pittsburgh Penguins, Los Angeles Kings and Detroit Red Wings are interested.

It’s said the Oilers are looking for a first-rounder in return. But suitors will be hesitant, given Hemsky’s inconsistency and the fact that he’s essentially a rental.
